Notice the inclusion of the phrase “high school graduate.” What has the girl’s education got to do with this article? -Nothing except as an excuse to include the words “high school.”

The eye picks up that phrase and years of reporters sensationalizing, rather than just reporting the news has trained a great many readers to take the implication that the girl was under 18 as fact. –Think Rush Limbaugh fans.

According to the DA here is no proof of that this relationship began before the young woman’s 18th birthday so there is no evidence that a crime was committed. But, hey… That isn’t exactly headline grabbing material.

At least he got caught with a female of legal age, unfortunately I figure this guy is as good as gone. After all, he’s not a pedophile so the church is unlikely to protect him.
